Spain ranks 27th in innovation as the Bloomberg Innovation Quotient

Spain ranks 27th in innovation Innovation Quotient by Bloomberg. Spain is just ahead of New Zealand and China occupying position 28 and 29 respectively, and behind that occupy Hungary and Portugal ranked 26th and 25th respectively.

This index created by the prestigious financial portal Bloomberg ranks countries on a scale from 0% to 100% using seven different factors, each of which is weighted by importance.

The factors that measure the level of innovation is research and development (20% weighting), productivity (20%), high technology (20%) Production capacity, production of goods with high added value (10%), concentration research, researcher per million inhabitants (20%), tertiary efficiency, which measures the rate of enrollment of students for postsecondary education and specialization (5%), finally patenting activity, patent applications filed by residents million inhabitants and per million of spending on research and development (5%).
