Researchers at the University Pompeu Fabra have generated a high-resolution atlas of heart with 3D images taken in 138 people. The study shows that you can get the average image of an organ and its variations, allowing individual cases to compare and differentiate between healthy and pathological forms.
"This atlas is a statistical description of the issue that have the heart and its parts, as the ventricles and atria" explains to SINC Corné Hoogendoorn, CISTIB site investigator at the University Pompeu Fabra.
The book TransMath: Innovative Solutions from Mathematical Technology, pubicado with Springer, lets spread the work over sixty Spanish research groups in the field of mathematical technology transfer to companies and industries. This is a unique and pioneering study in the field of mathematics.
In September 2011 the Red math came in with the goal of becoming a single window for business and technology centers. The network uses the knowledge and expertise of the research groups, joining forces to market and productive. His experience is more than supported by figures like that in the past decade led some 300 research projects at regional, national and European, signed 400 contracts with industry and contributed about 40 software packages.
The bodies of the three Galician universities met to sign the cooperation agreement to form a consortium of Industrial Mathematics Institute of Technology (ITMATI).
ITMATI has been driven by eleven scientists from nine research groups in Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research Universities belonging to Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo, and members of the Spanish Network Mathematics - Industry (math-in):
This seminar will focus on a topic of great interest today: how to establish successful relationships with industry from a research group. In these times when public funding for research has declined dramatically, it is necessary to search for new sources of funding, which in many cases can come from the private sector.

Secretary of State of Research, Development and Innovation of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness subjected to public information, between 22th November and 8th December 2012, the first draft of the State Plan of Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation for period 2013-2016.
Experts of Group on Research, Development and Innovation in Information Technology, University of Seville, headed by Professor Juan Antonio Ortega, have used the capabilities of mobile devices to create a system capable of determining physical activity undertaken by all of users and even if the person has been dropped.
The main advantage of the system developed by researchers at the University of Seville is the low cost since it is fully integrated into the mobile device. Furthermore, this reduces the level of intrusiveness of monitoring systems.
The company Ence explained that success is the result of their work in R&D&i, which has allowed the selection of tree that has become the clone breeding pattern, and which is known as "Anselmo" , after the forester who selected him. This selection was made based on criteria of drought resistance, plant health, growth and form.
